The SC-LX90 features a three Digital Core Engine with separate processors for each post-processing requirement: A 3rd-generation SHARC® processor for HD audio decoading and Advanced Sound Retriever processing, a Freescale DSP for Precision Distance and Front Stage Surround Advance processing, and a 3rd-generation SHARC® processor for Advanced MCACC and Full Band Phase Control. By having dedicated high-performance DSPs, extremely precise signal processing can be achieved at high speed.

The SC-LX90 has built-in decoders for Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio — the latest surround sound formats for the next generation optical discs. The lossless format lets you enjoy sound that is bit-for-bit identical to the studio master. Pioneer's Full Band Phase Control is an innovative solution for phase shift in a multi-channel speaker setting. With advanced digital signal processing (DSP), this feature compensates for any deviation in the speaker network, and adjusts the phase of each unit, as well as the group delay, for each speaker. Full Band Phase Control is also effective when speakers with different characteristics are combined, creating clear sound image and localization in an ideal sound field.
Advanced MCACC, our 3D automatic calibration system which performs fine adjustments and controls standing waves, has further evolved. It improves the stereo image with symmetric EQ compensation by taking phase characteristics into consideration. In addition, speaker adjustment accuracy has been enhanced to 1 cm increments. A push of a button provides you with a studio-quaity multi-channel listening environment.
Precision Distance Screen
Precision Distance is a world's first, and a very innovative feature for making manual adjustments to the speaker distance. You can easily duplicate a skilled installer's precise positioning with the help of a level gauge shown on the display.
The jitter reduction system for an HDMI connection and the PQLS function for an i.LINK connection provides highly accurate signal transmission from DVD or SACD/CD players. The 192 kHz Sampling Rate Converter, together with the low-jitter clock system, further improves signal accuracy during D/A conversion for precise reproduction of the most delicate nuances.
